Part K — End-to-end procedures

K.1 New host from bare metal

  1. A.2–A.3 Install from ISO
  2. A.5 First-login checklist
  3. Part E — bridges/VLANs
  4. Part D — add NFS/iSCSI/FC if needed; create folders
  5. Part H — profiles and users (optional)
  6. Part F — create first VM

K.2 Create a Linux VM with ISO install

  1. Storage → upload ISO into a folder
  2. Virtual machines → Create a virtual machine
  3. Guest = Linux; set CPU/memory
  4. Add a normal disk on Local VM disks (or other datastore) + folder
  5. ISO section → select the uploaded ISO
  6. Network → attach netbr0 or a VLAN bridge
  7. Create and start → Console → install OS
  8. After install, change boot order to Disk first; detach ISO if desired

K.3 Protect a VM (backup + optional TVD)

  1. Hardware → disk type Toorce Virtual Disk with ≥2 paths on different disks (optional resilience)
  2. Commands → Backup → choose datastore/folder → Backup now
  3. Optional: create Backup profile and assign it for schedules
  4. Test Restore to a new name on a lab host

K.4 Live move disk to another datastore

  1. Ensure target datastore is mounted and has space
  2. Commands → Move
  3. Select source disk → target datastore/folder
  4. Optionally tick remove original after sync
  5. Move disk → when complete, Use the new disk if prompted

K.5 Oracle-style core boundary

  1. Hardware → Processor
  2. Set sockets/cores to the licensed topology you intend
  3. Enable Pin processors to selected host cores
  4. Tick only the host cores in the license set
  5. Save; restart VM if required
  6. Document serial, VM name, and core list for audit

K.6 Join a second (non-identical) host

  1. Install TOORCE HV on the second server
  2. On host A: Datacenter → Add a cluster (name, secret, interfaces)
  3. On host B: Join a cluster with coordinator, UUID, secret
  4. Share storage folders as needed
  5. Create or clone VMs to the host with free capacity
